As a Chauffer & Maintenance Assistant, you are responsible for providing opportunities for transporting residents to the grocery store, monthly outings and extended trips as scheduled. You will also assist the maintenance team with general labor needs, repairs for the Community to include; all public areas, apartments, corridors, heart of the house, exterior areas of building, grounds and landscaping. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch® friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner, resulting in a very high level of Resident satisfaction.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in Start Sterling! line up each day.
  • Greet the Residents, guests and employees in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all Resident requests.
  • Establish and maintain high cleanliness, sanitation and organizational standards in all apartments, public areas and heart of the house work and storage areas.
  • Assists in maintaining and repairing all areas in accordance with the established Community Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Provide Painting and Drywall assistance for maintenance.
  • Immediately correct and report any unusual findings or safety hazards.
  • Document all work performed in an apartment, public areas, heart of the house and exterior using the established process.
  • Assist with setting up and taking down patio furniture.
  • Respond to Resident and emergency calls within predetermined response time periods.
  • Complete work orders and shop assignments in a timely manner.
  • Assist in ensuring the building and grounds are walked daily for light bulb replacement and maintenance needs.
  • Assist in keeping all maintenance Records and Log Books updated daily.
  • Know, understand and practice Community fire and other emergency procedures.
  • Drive van, bus or automobile to meet resident needs and in accordance with scheduled appointments and Facets™ calendar of events.
  • Assist Director of Facets™ or Facets™ Coordinator in assisting residents on and off bus/van, tracking attendance and coordinating equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, canes etc.).
  • Load groceries and other purchased items into bus/van.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Assist with community vehicle maintenance
  • Clean and wash vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as, moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc.

 

Schedule:

  • Wednesday - Sunday
  • Hours may vary but are typically scheduled for 9:00 - 5:00 P.M.
  • 40 hours per week

 

Education:

  •  High School Diploma or GED required

 

Grooming:

  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance as detailed in the Grand Living Sioux Falls Employee Handbook, Orientation and Training.
