As a Housekeeping Attendant, you are responsible to enhance the overall Resident experience through exceptional comprehensive leadership. The impression, service, and cleanliness provided is crucial to the reputation and success of the community. This is to be handled in The Sterling Touch friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner, resulting in a very high level of Resident satisfaction. Provides housekeeping services to Resident apartments. This position is under the general guidance of the Housekeeping Director in accordance with Community's standards, processes, procedures and practices.


Essential Functions:


  • Participate in Start Sterling! line up every day.
  • Greet the Residents, guests and employees in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all Resident requests.
  • Knows how to use and operate all housekeeping equipment and supplies
  • Follows operational and shift change procedures and tasks
  • Performs daily cleaning and deep cleaning of apartment residence, storage areas, and laundry areas as assigned by the Housekeeping Director and in accordance to the standards and procedures of the community
  • Reviews and prioritizes at shift start and plans for daily activities
  • Maintains the cleanliness, neatness, and organization of the housekeeping spaces as well as housekeeping carts, buckets and trays.
  • Checks for items that are not operable and/or in need of repair and reports of such items to the Housekeeping or Maintenance Director.
  • Replenishes all supplies and amenities in residences and common spaces as needed
  • Transports trash and waste to proper disposal area
  • Collects all recyclables and transports to proper recycle bins
  • Completes reports and any other duties as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains high cleanliness and sanitation standards in all apartments residences, public areas and heart of the house work areas.
  • Cleaning of residences and public spaces may include: dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, assisting with laundry needs, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen areas, lobby and common areas.
  • Perform quality cleaning to meet required standards within set time limits
  • Comply with all safety guidelines.
  • Performs duties of housekeeper/laundry attendant as needed.
  • Complete cleaning schedules for move outs and prepare apartment for next resident.
  • Pick up ground litter around property or wherever visible
  • Any other duties as directed by the Housekeeping Director.    




Regular attendance in conformance with the standards as detailed in the Grand Living at Lake Lorraine Employee Handbook, Orientation, and Training is essential for successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


Due to resident expectations and planned/unplanned events/occurrences, employees may be required to work varying schedules which reflect the business and service needs of the Community.


Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Grand Living's standards, procedures and processes, including all government and industry regulations, for the safe and efficient operation of the Community. Employees who fail to meet the Grand Living at Lake Lorraine expectations in all areas will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.




In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the Community:


  • Respond in a timely manner to Resident requests for one time use or other items, safety instructions and/or assistance and other information as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned such as assisting House Attendant when requested.
  • Know and understand Community's emergency, life safety and security procedures and requirements.
  • Report all suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Turn in all items found to Community Lost and Found per established process.
